Great for use in my herbal tea.

This ginger is great quality and the only one I have found on Amazon that is organic sliced ginger. The rest of the organic brands seem to be chopped and sifted which works but not for my purposes. I always drink this in the morning as a “tea” by steeping 6-7 grams in hot water and then consume it. Usually after the second day, I just munch on the leftover ginger and then make a fresh one the next day.

I was given this Dried Ginger for free in order to provide an unbiased review as a part of Amazon’s Vine program. This ginger has an intense floral scent, robust flavor, and the pieces are generous. It is a high-quality ginger with texture. I love that the only ingredients are organic ginger. Plus, it is a terrific way to store ginger in the resealable pouch. I left it on the kitchen counter for three weeks during a heat wave, and the ginger was untouched by the elements. I tested it by hydrating the dried ginger in plain water; put a slice in ginger ale to help intensify the flavor; and also added it directly to hot ramen noodles. It handled each element well — particularly the heat. I think the value for the money is very, very reasonable given the overall quality and versatility of these dried ginger slices. I hope this helps you.

I got this ginger for one thing, and one thing only: I love my gin and tonic with a slice of ginger. Thing is, I don’t drink enough to consume a whole ginger root and usually end up with it slowly drying out in the fridge and then getting slung out. So when I saw the dried ginger, I was stoked. It hydrated well and has a lovely subtle flavour when added to gin and tonic; not too overpowering at all, it is delicious. If you care that it’s organic, that’s another bonus. For me the fact that it’s in a resealable packet and will last a while, so I can reach for it when I’d like the occasional G&T. Also, because it’s there, I will likely end up using it for other dishes – my Nan used to always use ginger in stir-fry, so now that I have it in the cupboard, I’ll likely give it a go in other things in the kitchen. $14 might seem a lot but remember it is dehydrated and it will last longer than the fresh one that slowly goes wrinkly in your fridge when you don’t use it, so that alone delivers value for money for me!
