This updated third edition includes new self-help and practitioner treatment guidelines for each muscle discussed, covering cutting-edge trigger point theory and practice. The opening chapters describe the basics of trigger points and include detailed therapeutic protocols. Chapters seven through twelve are organized by muscle groups, with detailed color illustrations of each major skeletal muscle. In addition, respected osteopath Simeon Niel-Asher discusses the physiological implications of the trigger points in each muscle—and techniques for treatment—and addresses the most common pain complaints, including headache, neck pain, shoulder pain, lower back pain, and TMJ syndrome. This is a must-have manual for students, professional hands-on therapists, and those who wish to gain a greater knowledge of trigger point therapy.
“This book wonderfully describes the syndromes of myofascial pain that affect the skeletal muscles. The text is clear, with detailed information about the presentation of syndromes in each body region, and the illustrations show the referred pain patterns clearly. Individuals suffering from myofascial pain will find it useful in understanding and managing their symptoms.”
–Dr. Bob Gerwin, MD, FAAN
Medical Director and President,Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland
“Simeon Niel-Asher has improved on an already wonderfully descriptive book on myofacial pain, trigger points, and syndromes. The text is clear, the diagrams excellent and the overall result is an excellent resource.”
–Dr. Simon Vulfsons, MD, Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pain Management Director, the Institute for Pain Medicine, Rambam Health Care Campus, Haifa, Israel
“This book is a must-have for manual therapists serious about their craft, as well as for serious self-treaters who want to take their level of understanding and treatment independence to a higher level. The book is extremely well organized, well written, and concise. The illustrations are beautiful and accurate.”
–Jonathan Reynolds, Director, TOLA systems.

Gave it to my wife to help her with her degenerative back disorder and the pain in her knees from a botched double knee replacement. It was no cure but it did help relieve some of the pain.

Very comprehensive. Written to be understood by everyone and detailed enough for a professional. Excellent pictures and illustrations.

I picked up this trigger point book as part of a Christmas gift, along with a trigger point massage cane, a stretch‑out strap, and some arthritis cream. It ended up being a really great combo, and the book tied everything together perfectly.
The explanations are clear, the diagrams are easy to follow, and it does a good job showing exactly where common trigger points are and how to work on them. It’s approachable enough for beginners but still detailed enough to be genuinely useful.
The person I gifted it to loved the whole set, and this book was a big part of why. It makes the tools feel less intimidating and helps you actually understand what you’re doing instead of just guessing.
If you’re putting together a pain‑relief or self‑care bundle, this book is a great addition.

The second book on TPs from the same author that I have purchased. I found this to be informative and very modestly priced.

Ce livre se lit facilement et donne énormément de renseignements sur les points trigger et la façon dont on peut les traiter. Beaucoup de photographies et d’explications. Merci à l’auteur pour ce travail de fond sur un sujet passionnant.

I’ve worked in Sports Medicine for 10 years and was looking for something to brush up on my skills. Due to my background, I must admit it was largely overview. For the general public, this is a great book if you’d like a better understanding of trigger points as well as soft tissue function overall.

It is really good book, specially for physiotherapists or massage therapists. Lot of information with full colored pictures. I am very satisfied with this book. Thanks to the seller. Recommend it!

I have had for many years the outstanding Clair Davies book “The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook: Your Self-Treatment Guide for Pain Relief.” Ordered the Niel-Asher book because I have been helped by Niel-Asher’s video as to massaging the very hard to identify and treat Pterygoid muscles. Just received “The Concise Book of Trigger Points, Third Edition: A Professional and Self-Help Manual” and was blown away by the detailed, explicit diagrams and, without having read the book, I can tell by the comprehensive and very clear Table of Contents that it has very helpful descriptions of all muscles including the muscles of the head, face and neck. I’m very happy I got this book and look forward to learning more about the muscles so I can more clearly identify to my doctor and therapist the muscles that need attention and Botox treatment.

Non è il primo di qs. Me lo sono preso in formato kindle x portarmelo sempre dietro. Confermo un libro che non deve mancare nella formazione di terapisti manuali.
