This is the first bad review I’ve ever written. I’m not usually a negative person but I was SO excited for this and I’m very upset with the crystal I got. I ordered the sunset colored crystal, as it’s my absolute favorite color palette and I literally gasped when I saw the picture online because it was so stunningly gorgeous. What I GOT was a horribly painted hunk of metal. It’s not a crystal at all. The top half is sprayed with some sort of multichrome that shifts between purple and gold. It’s admittedly pretty in some spots but there’s no pink or orange that I wanted. The other half is literally just silver. The bottom looks like concrete poured in a brownie pan. I see literal grill marks on part of it. I was really looking forward to this piece and I understand that not every crystal looks the same, but I wouldn’t even call this a crystal at all. I’m sorry to say but this feels like a scam. I will be sending this back or seeking a refund.

These gemstones are really nice to have as a decorative object or to analyze. Quartz can form some really nice crystal structures and can come in almost any color imaginable. Nice an vibrant, and very “showy”.
My only criticism is the effect the Titanium coating has on it. Other reviews have stated it looks “fake” or “painted” and that is true to an extent. It visually appears to have the texture of a plastic-stained glass, or rock candy on some areas of the gem. However, a nice touch with the paint it that it gives the quartz iridescence, in other words a rainbow-like reflection at the right angles, making it very visually pleasing to look at. The paint also gives it a smooth/glassy feel compared to a rough feel on unmodified quartz, if that’s your fancy.

In the end, you might love it, you might hate it. It depends on your preferences and/or expectations. But I’m very proud to own this particular one.

I didn’t thoroughly read the descriptions before ordering. I was hoping for something a bit larger with some weight to use as a decorative bookend for my Lore Olympus collection but it won’t work. It’s however very beautiful still and will make a nice addition to the shelf
