Bought to observe birefringence effect in the Icelandic Spar. It works well in my example. This was the Viking sunstone (qv). Five stars. Thank you.

This is a nice crystal, however, it splinters all over the place, it is not of optical quality as I had purchased it to use it as a nautical navigation sun stone as the Vikings did.
Guess I’ll use it as a healing crystal.

it was a milky rock that light could not penetrate nothing like what is shown in the picture, ridiculous!

The picture was a clear piece. I received a cloudy crystal. I would not have ordered had I known I was receiving a cloudy crystal. DO NOT BUY
