The benefits of Andrographis (Andrographis paniculata) have been known for centuries and if it was ineffective it would have disappeared long ago from Chinese medicine and ayurveda. Basically, it is echinacea on steroids. That said, like many supplements, the best example I can think of is curcumin, it suffers from dosing and concentration of active ingredients. With curcumin, Solgar found a way (modern science) to concentrate the active compounds in it and so instead of eating curry three meals a day, like Indians, you just take a gel cap and you are good. This is how it is with Double Wood Andrographis, they have found a way to concentrate the active ingredient, the andrographolides. The effect of these compounds is enhanced immune system function. At 67 I have watched my immune system degrade, and I am not just talking about resistance to colds and flu, but other immunological conditions such as joint pain and allergies. This stuff is just great and the effects are noticeable.

I bought Andrographis from a health food store. I was looking for natural remedies to lower sugar (my husband has type 2 diabetes). I was offered a brochure with the herb jar. When I read about the properties of the herb, I bought another jar and shared information with my friends and they bought it too. In the month of November, I had a venomous spider bite – a brown recluse. And I had headaches and confusion after reading that Andrographis helps with poisonous bites – I began to take it 2 capsules in the morning and in the evening. the headaches are gone. Clarity returned, and my husband used the drug and had a 30 percent reduction in blood sugar.

I purchased a 120 capsule bottle of 1000mg ANDROGRAPHIS with AP Bio after the recommendation of a nurse on a health food group I am in on Facebook. Of note, she said it was of a huge help to her IBS (she also has MS). At this point I had been low FODMAP for several months and it was not working well. I was experiencing a lot of bowel pain still whether or not I avoided trigger foods plus I was finding other health issues from having to follow low FODMAP for some time. I was on a lot of painkillers nearly daily. Within a week of being on ANDROGRAPHIS capsules, the pain was gone.
