- 99% Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate. To be used for large bodies of water, not small decorative ponds, water features, or pools.
- Controls most species of algae like filamentous, string algae and swimmers itch. Copper Sulfate should be used as a pond algae treatment on actively growing algae in water temperature above 60F.
- Most effective when cast out on top of thick floating algae mats. Be aware of how much vegetation you are treating at one time. Eliminating too much at once can deplete the oxygen levels too quickly for your fish.
- Granular Copper Sulfate, 5 lbs
- DO NOT use in bodies of water that include Koi, Goldfish, Trout, or Grass Carp. These types of fish are sensitive to copper sulfate products.

Works Good to clear up algae in stock tanks

I love this product. I use to open my swimming pool. It works well. Clears my water quick and helps opening my pool and getting it ready for the summer season. It’s a good value, water clarity is amazing, and removes algae quickly.

This stuff is awesome!! My pond was getting so over taken we could no longer fish but this cleared it right up and didn’t seem to bother the fish at all

Copper sulfate was recommended by company that installed my new septic system drain field. It is supposed to kill off the roots that enter septic system and cause mega problems. I can only rate it “three stars” because the only way to verify that it is working is an absence of septic clogs and backups that require draining of the septic holding tank and replacing drainage lines. No thank you — believe me, that is an expensive project (but necessary).
I have followed the directions on the container, using the cap to measure each of three or four applications, but recent heavy rains have made me consider applying again to combat unexpected root growth promoted by the rain. Then, I will probably reorder, though I was told I could get a larger amount locally. Where would I store a larger amount safely? This container seals tightly and fits under bathroom vanity, so why drag in a larger quantity, even if it divides out cheaper per pound?
To be sure this is what you need, contact your local septic system installer, and ask if it would be appropriate for your system. Be prepared to give the size of holding tank (5,000, 10,000, or 15,000 gallons, etc.) and age of system. If you are already experiencing problems, ask the price of an on-site inspection of your system. Please do not wait until it overflows! This product will not solve the problems of a holding tank that needs draining. Apply copper sulfate AFTER getting the tank drained and drain field checked for flow.

This worked really well but I would need 3 more bags for an acre pond.
