Flavor is good. These taste fresh. It is better to buy whole flax seeds and grind them as you use them, than to by ground flax seed. I have a small, inexpensive Magic Bullet grinder, and I grind flax seed and put it on my salad almost everyday.

The package was damaged. It seems it happened during delivery as flax seeds look ok.
But anyway, for a food product I would not expect to receive anything damaged/opened.
