According to Japanese folklore, spirit-like entities called yokai inhabit the Earth. They live beneath the canopy of the forests, below the surface of the seas, or in the most secluded corners of our homes. They can be humanlike, beasts, or even objects; they can be mischievous or peaceful and protective. One thing is certain: through this beautiful tarot deck with art by Marga Biazzi, the yokai are here to guide your path with their cunning and wisdom.

I was attracted to this deck because I love the artist. But i gotta say, when I got this, I wasn’t sure if I was gonna like it. It seems very bizarre in places… but that is the nature of Japanese Yokai. They are mischievous spirits, sometimes benevolent, sometimes evil. Sometimes weird lol
As soon as I started working with it, it grew on me pretty quick. I absolutely love her art in general… It can range from cute to quirky, but overall, always gorgeous. Her color palette and brush work is stunning.
As for the cards themselves, it comes in a lovely top lid box… The cards are matte finished, but very smooth to shuffle, much like most of Lo Scarabeo’s decks (I actually quite like this type of stock) I love getting his published decks, because they’re always so polished and use quality materials… unlike most of Llewellyn’s decks.
A happy addition to my collection.

Beautiful full tarot deck. Nice sturdy. Neat little lore in the booklet about each yokai.

Absolutely adorable. I love this deck and i love how they incorporated the yokai meaning into the tarot, that’s exactly what i wanted. I am so excited for this deck.

i love the imagery – the book was underwhelming and not my preference (too poetic)

The quality of the deck is superb, sturdy card stock with a matte finish. I never expected that from Lo Scarabeo and I absolutely love it. I hope other publishers take note! The deck itself is beautifully well done. The images are ethereal, but fun and feels accessible. The guidebook is a good jumping off point for beginners. A actual book on Yokai lore and mythology may be a good addition if you would like to go deeper. But since this deck is based on the RWS system it can be read traditionally too. This is just an all-around amazing deck from the publisher, I’m so happy with it!

Absolutely adore these cards! I grew up hearing stories of yokai, but this opens up even more knowledge and rach character fits the cards so far. 🥰

I love the yoki faces. These are a fun deck to work with. The guidebook also tells you about the yoki from folklore. Lovely colours as well. Interesting card stock. It should hold up well and you cab riffle shuffle them.

Loved it! I’m a huge fan of Japanese culture and this deck surprised me. The material of the cards is a bit thin but not a problem if you’re a person who takes a good care of things.
