I like adding 3 green tea bags to Luzianne black tea gallon size bag when making ice tea. Uncle Lee’S Green tea seems to give more tea taste and smoother flavor. Neighbors come to visit just to get a glass of ice tea , great flavor they say.

I’m always on the lookout for healthy drinks, and in my soda-free, sugar-free, and juice-free household, the options can be pretty limited. The solution? Delicious and nutritious tea. I keep a pot brewing from morning until night, so I go through a lot of it. Before discovering Uncle Lee’s Organic Green Tea, I used to buy some pricey brands from the grocery store. While some were good, the cost really started to add up. There’s no need to pay more just for fancy packaging or big marketing budgets. Uncle Lee’s checks all the boxes—organic green tea with all the health benefits, without the high price tag. It has a solid, enjoyable flavor, and I only need two bags to brew a full pot. The result is a rich, flavorful tea packed with the antioxidants you expect from green tea, like polyphenols and catechins, at a much more reasonable cost.

I put 8 Tea Bags into 2 quarts of water at +160F temperature, with a 3 minute brew time, resulting in a smooth flavor, mild green tea, with good color, and no bitterness. This Uncle Lee’s VERT Organic Green Tea is better than the Uncle Lee’s plain Organic Green Tea, which is low in flavor, and has a bitterness in the aftertaste. Using 2 Tea Bags does increase the Taste, but still has the slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Realize both types of Uncle Lee’s Green Teas are low end Green Teas, which the Price Point reflects. However, for a quick, low priced, Green Tea, with no bitterness, the VERT Organic Green Tea is ok for what it is. Imho, the Vietnamese Old Trees Green Tea from Northern Vietnam is very much better in Taste, Flavor, Aftertaste, and No Bitterness, is miles ahead of anything from Uncle Lee, but you will be paying at least DOUBLE what Uncle Lee Green Teas costs, but is worth it. “Tastes better than any Farm Raised Tea” is true.
UPDATE: Modern Day Japanese Culture has CHANGED from serving and drinking Green Tea, to COFFEE, causing the Tea Plantations in Japan to go Bankrupt, and being Plowed Under. Only very Low End Plastic Bottled Green Tea in Vending Machines are the bulk of Green Tea sales, and that’s Real Low End Green Tea. The Biggest Buyer of Japanese Tea now is ITO-EN, and they only buy the Last Harvest, Least Expensive Leaf’s, so Japanese Tea Farmers cannot make enough Income to continue Operations, and are Closing Down, all across Japan. Exported Japanese Green Tea sales are still strong, but Foreigners don’t drink enough High-End and Mid-Range Priced Japanese Green Tea to keep the Japanese Farmers in business either. It’s only a matter of time, before Japanese Tea Farms will become an “Endangered Species”, and then become “Extinct”. It takes 5 – 7 years to grow a Tea Plant large enough to Commercial Harvesting size, so very unlikely this will ever come back. It would cost too much Time and Money, plus the Knowledgeable People will all be gone, having moved on to other Careers, and not coming back. Being a Farmer or Fisherman is the Most Risky Business to be in, because you can never know when Nature will be Against you, and your Crop/Catch is either too low, or none at all for the year. Just because you had a Great Year one year, doesn’t mean the next year will be too. So, with all those Many Variables and Expenses against you, who is going to be willing to invest the Huge Cost? Nobody. Green Tea cannot last longer than about 2 to 3 years, before going Stale, so you cannot make a “Lifetime Buy” now, and Japan makes the Bulk of “Steamed” Green Tea, which has a very different taste than the Chinese Style “Pan Fried” Green Teas. I’m not saying one is better than the other. Just that if you prefer the “Steamed” Green Tea, you may soon be unable to buy it anymore, once Japan’s Green Tea Industry goes out of the business. My advice is, “ENJOY IT WHILE YOU STILL CAN”… and be Grateful for what you can still get right now. Even MATCHA will soon become an “Endangered Species”, and then “Extinct”. I doubt anyone will be able to Duplicate the Japanese Green Tea Production as was done in Japan, because just about Everything about it was converted to Computerized Automation, producing an almost Perfect End Product, at the Very Lowest Cost-of-Production, with almost Zero Variation from one Batch to the Next, completely untouched by Human Hands. Everyone else, everyplace else, does their Production requiring Human Labor, and Humans just CANNOT be 99% The Same, like a Computerized Machine can. I don’t know why the Younger Japanese Generation has switched from Green Tea to Coffee. Most people in Japan don’t even know How To Make Green Tea anymore, because it was already a “Thing-of-the-Past” in their Home, while growing up, replaced by Coffee in the morning, and to serve to Guests. Tea Plants depend on how and where it’s grown, so no Two Places can be exactly the same. Japan is a Series of Islands, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean at their Latitude that cannot be duplicated anywhere else, so it’s impossible to Replace Japanese Green Teas with anything else. I’m “Old School”, so for me, I’m very disappointed this is what things have turned into. Well, “End-of-Life” comes to everything, Humans, and now, Japanese Produced Green Teas too. “SAIYONARA”… :o(

Great value if you like green tea. Individually packaged tea bags of good quality tea.

This is my favorite brand of tea, and the price is so reasonable. My only complaint is that sometimes it’s unavailable, but when it is in stock, it’s my go-to green tea.
Steve N. –
This is a super value. This is the beautiful green tea, smooth, dry, with a slight nutty taste as well. No sweetener or anything needed. Just enjoyment all day. Keeps me away from junk like soda. It’s A huge disparity to the horrible bitter seaweed spinach tasting ones that makes my stomach crawl. This one is beautiful.
