Turmeric is really good for you. It is commonly used in Middle East foods. As a southerner and Texan, I don’t eat many Middle East food dishes. But, Turmeric is really good for you. So, I bought these dry roots to try. The flavor is a bit strange to me. So far best used in some ginger mint tea to hide the taste. I think I’ll stick to ground turmeric in capsules. But, it was worth the try.
Nicely packaged in foil lined zip lock bag. Should remain good for a while.

They should be listed as such because I needed fresh and raw. Cannot be peeled. I bought for more money because with prime I could get quickly only to find these were hard and dried. Now I will have to buy from elsewhere and wait for something easily used. Save the money and the wasted time.

The roots were fully dried with no mold, bugs, sticks, or stones. I’ve been able to grind a few roots to make fresh powder (you’ll need a very tough mill for this). The mylar package is a little thin. I cut into the bay while opening the box, so take care.

I soaked them for a few days to rehydrate them.

PLEASE NOTE – THESE ARE DRIED, NOT FRESH ROOT. I was hoping for fresh, moist turmeric root for use in a juicer. My mistake for rushing and not reading the questions and reviews. That said, if dried is what you’re looking for, these seem to be very nice quality. They’re clean, healthy looking roots in a nice light-proof resealable bag (1 lb size).

root fingers is hard as rocks, can not even put in food processor and make a dent in them.
i have ordered before turmeric but never this hard. Can not use, and waited to late to open to see if
product was ok. money waisted.

Very difficult to shave unto a powder. Next time I will get fresh or buy it already pulverized.

I am very happy with the Turmeric root fingers, I have been using ground turmeric for the last five years daily now I decided perhaps I would like to grind them myself instead at least I know that they are not been mixed with any other powder, and these are well packed for long lasting storage, I will order again from this seller fast shipping as well. The beautiful aroma of authentic turmeric, i could smell when i ground the roots. Missed such original smell from the packets of turmeric powder which i used to buy. So its more about the freshness i would say
