I am enjoying the pocket edition of The Psychic Tarot. I love tarot and oracle cards, but I don’t like hauling all my decks with me when I travel.
The pocket edition of the Psychic Tarot came just in time for me, as I was out of town when I got my hands on it, and I was able to pull cards for the duration of my vacation with ease and the accuracy I’ve come to know from shuffling the cards by hand.
I particularly love that this pocket edition keeps to the same glossy finish that John Holland’s other decks have. I grabbed another pocket oracle from another author and the finish was a matte finish, which made it a bit more cumbersome to shuffle.
Though I was nervous that the pocket edition guidebook might not provide the same level of guidance that a full deck would, I was elated to find that the guidebook messages felt just as meaty as they would in the regular deck. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. I get everything that I need and more.
I also love that the cards come in a nice tin container that keeps them safe from being crushed in luggage. Mine was in my carry-on and had migrated to the bottom. I was worried I might get stopped by airport security, but I breezed through with no issue. Plus, I didn’t feel loaded down because the pocket edition is so small nor did I see any damage to the container or the cards from being at the bottom of my bag. So grateful for this deck and that it came right when I needed it.

Got my package today and I’m in love. Cards came sealed and in perfect condition. They’re on the smaller side but to be honest they’re not too tiny and are perfect for shuffling. The illustrations are beautiful too and are vibrant and sharp, they can be appreciated fully despite the smaller size of the deck. Cards are glossy and cardstock is really good too, I would say medium-thick, it’s not flimsy, papery or bendy, which I really appreciate. 10/10
