I got this stone pendant mainly for its unique design and natural look, and it makes an interesting, understated jewelry piece. It’s nice to see some of the older fashion trends making a comeback.

I wanted to give this necklace a positive review, but there are a few things about it that make this a bit of a confusing purchase. First of all, the listing claims that the item is made of pure shungite. Unfortunately, the necklace is missing some of the characteristics that would identify it as pure shungite. The design is too uniform for something that’s been hand-carved. Furthermore, I realized the design is not just a random sun and moon; the star design is literally the stars from the Chinese flag, just flipped horizontally. This is an interesting and somewhat confusing detail.
The pendant itself is on a cheap cord, and it fits just fine without me having to adjust it. It’s comfortable to wear. The pendant is very lightweight, and it passes the stylus test. However, the piece appears to be molded rather than carved, so it’s unclear if it’s 100% shungite. It’s a lovely necklace, but now knowing where the design came from makes it a bit of an awkward piece to wear. It would make a great conversation starter, given what the design was taken from. But as an everyday accessory, I would feel a bit awkward wearing it. If you want something that’s pure shungite, I would look elsewhere and get it from a reputable seller of shungite products. I would pass on this one, given the price for it and the design you end up receiving.
