I started drinking marshmallow tea as digestive support, and it was very beneficial for me. The tea is a thick consistency when brewed for a long period of time, almost like thinned down aloe. It’s that consistency that coats your esophagus and stomach creating a protective layer. If you have GERD or gastritis, this protective layer can promote healing, which is exactly what it did for me.
To get the most out of marshmallow tea, you need to brew it for a long time. The packaging says to brew it over night in lukewarm water, which I did for my morning cup. But I also found that brewing it with boiling water for about 30 minutes reached a similar consistency and benefits. I brew it overnight for my morning cup and if I need additional support I’ll brew a second cup in the evenings with boiling water.
Flavor wise, I find it to taste somewhat like licorice. While I don’t find the flavor enjoyable, it’s not offensive either, and the relief I feel from drinking it actually makes me crave it at times. A little honey goes a long way here.
This tea is a cost effective way to get the digestive support benefits of marshmallow tea. There several different options out there which I’ve tried, but this one was the best in terms of getting what I need at a reasonable cost. I’ve also bought cheaper alternatives, but I found they didn’t reach the same consistency and didn’t offer much support. This is why I recommend this brand in particular.

I love the packaging and value—this tea feels high-quality and is reasonably priced. I bought it for DIY hair care, but recently tried it as a tea and was pleasantly surprised. Mixed with honey, it has a cozy, soothing flavor. As someone recovering from a recent respiratory illness, the mucilage provided a comforting coating for my raw, raspy throat.
It thickens the longer it steeps, which can look unusual if you’re not used to it, but that gelatinous consistency is exactly why I’m excited to use it for hair care—it should give excellent slip for finger detangling. A versatile, comforting product I’d happily buy again from this seller.

This is really good. It is also calming and helped me with digestion. I had issues with getting the right measurements to get a good texture (i mean thickness), wasn’t as gel like as i expected (i probably expected too much) but this is an amazing product and worth your money. Will definitely buy again. For peptic ulcer, this, dgl lico rice and mastic gum has been a very good combo in my healing journey.
