The candles were supposed to be scented and when I let them they did not give off the scent that they were supposed to you smell like a normal candle burning!

Update: the seller SRS Direct reached out and offered a refund. I got a complete refund in a few days so 5* for customer service. I changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars. Wouldn’t hurt to try it if you’re interested. I did end up giving it to my coworker and she liked it. But I must say that she likes some strong flowery scents so YMMV. End update.

Didn’t smell any of the advertised scents except musk when I opened the package. The candle is not label with ocean scent but it’s the right color: green so I lit it up. The scent isn’t very strong but it lingers. I only burnt it for a few minutes to confirm it didn’t smell anything like ocean. I should have opted for a return instead of trying it and now it doesn’t seem right to return it.

I have to admit, upon opening this California Coast candle set when it was delivered, I was disappointed. Out of the box, it didn’t seem to have more than the absolute mildest of scent. Yes, the jars are elegant, but I didn’t smell anything that was worthy of the price.
Then, something happened. I left the candles outside of the box for about 12 hours. As i was sitting here earlier, I kept thinking and looking around saying “what smells so good? It was this candle set! It seems that exposing it to my home and the warmer air for a period of time allowed the candle to breathe and suddenly, they smelled DIVINE!
The scent is extremely unique – I have never smelled another candle like it. The description says “the creamy sweetness of coconut and delicate florals, unfolds into a juicy heart of citrus-fresh guava, and settles on a crisp, clean base of ocean driftwood and warm musk”, but honestly, this is so much more than even that description. It definitely has a gourmand smell that is layered with a blend of unknown florals. I do pick up the Guava, as I love guava. The musk is also noticeable, but there is something else that is giving this scent such dimension and complexity. I almost want to say there is a hint of cinnamon that is pulling the scent together. The best way that I could describe this scent is a fresh gourmand oceanic floral. Makes no sense, but oh, does it work!
The jars are very elegant. I love the pale frosted seafoam green glass with the elegant wax golden seal. The will go well into any environment.
I am finishing this review and going to order more of these. Definitely a good bargain considering how good they smell. I actually don’t want to even light them because I am enjoying the unlit smell that much.

Such a cute candle set ! I love the beach smell of the light blue teal one . Super fresh smelling and they look so nice ! I love the candle containers as well & I love the two sizes they give you. Perfect for living room and bedroom so the smell can spread throughout the house . What really stood out to me is the slow burn of each candle. At first I thought they wouldn’t last too long but the wax and candle itself have a really slow burn which makes these last forever ! Even the smaller size container out of the two .

I was really happy with these candles! The fact it comes in a two pack makes this a great value and bang-for-your-buck – the jar, packaging and scent feel rather fancy, but without the fancy pricing.
The candles are both on the smaller side – in fact, the smaller one is TINY, but I was surprised by how powerful it was! The throw fairly strong within a 10ft radius or so – not enough to fill up my entire bedroom, but perfect for a bathroom or foyer space. The larger candle is stronger and perfect for bedroom, living room or den.
As far as the scent, it’s very coconut forward, but without being too cloyingly sweet or artificial smelling. I was worried the sandalwood and floral may be too much (those scent can sometimes get headachey for me), but they’re more like a “balancing” scent to give the coconut a touch of maturity. This is a coconut candle that DOES NOT smell like sunscreen, which is hard to find.
The jar is also pretty! Would look excellent on your coffee table or mantle. Soft shade of blue with a well designed label. These essentially look more expensive than they actually are, and would make a great housewarming gift or similar. The candle did have a bit of tunneling at first, but the tunneling leveled out after a few hours of burning, so fret not if your candle starts tunneling at first!
Overall, very happy with these! They have decent scent complexity, more than I expect at this price point, and the smell is noticeable without being overly strong.

These candles look very lovely which makes them great for gifting, especially since they come in an attractive box with secure packaging. The teal color of the jars is so pretty. I got the California Coast scent and I like the fresh fragrance, although it is a fairly light scent. They have a good burn length. I think they are worth the money as a gift as they look pretty, but some people may want a stronger fragrance.
