These are fun and have a very different peppery taste. doesn’t make a difference in oily foods but added to scrambled eggs it adds some zing. You can’t grind them in a normal pepper grinder and I’m guessing they are hard to deal with in a small mortar and pestle. I used my wife’s electric coffee grinder. Quick. But next time she makes coffee I’ll be in trouble. LOL

If you like black pepper, this is like a turbo version. Not just heat, but a more distinct flavor. I’ve used it in many things and it does well with meats, soups and veg. Kicked my beef jerky up a notch or two as well. It’s oddly shaped though – don’t put it in a regular pepper mill or you’ll be cranking all day and get nothing. Or that could just be my age. Enjoy.

Fragrant and flavorful, no burn.

This is very interesting! I tried it because I learned it was what people used before regular black pepper became popular, and it’s pretty good. It’s spicier than black pepper and has this almost fruity aftertaste. It’s very subtle, almost as much a smell as a flavor, but it’s not bad. I’m not one for a lot of hotness or spice, so I’ve been adding just a little bit along with regular black pepper to stuff to change things up.

Smaller than I expected. That is a problem because it is yummy and I want more.

These are good-quality spices with a strong, vibrant scent and excellent flavor. They arrived well-packaged to preserve freshness, and the cost was very reasonable. I’m happy with them!
