I started having crazy hot flashes last year at age 49. They happened 4-5 times a day, and at night. I’d taken Chaste Tree Berry extract for years to regulate my cycles and help PMS symptoms, but it didn’t help with the hot flashes.
So I started taking Black Cohosh extract about half a year ago. Now I have zero hot flashes. Like, none. Couple of tips:
1. It tastes bad. But this stuff saves my sanity and gave me my life back, so I can take the bad taste for 5 seconds twice a day. I mix it into 2 ounces of warm water, gulp it down, and I’m done.
2. Start slow and build up over time until you find a dosage that works for you. What I found works for me: 40 drops of Black Cohosh + 30 drops of Chaste Tree Berry, in the morning and evening. (I also use a small amount of Emerita Progest cream at bedtime for 3 weeks out of the month.)
Give it a try if you’re plagued by hot flashes!

This is a very cost effective natural way to get rid of hot flashes. I’ve done maca and HRT and I like this black cohosh much better than those.

When taken daily, black cohosh works very well for my hot flashes and night sweats. I take 4 eye droppers’ worth (about 1 to 1 1/2 inch) once daily in a concealing beverage; Coca-Cola works pretty well to conceal the strong bitter taste. This extract works better than the black cohosh teas I’ve tried; it’s concentrated and potent. If you’re considering hormone replacement therapy for menopause symptoms, try this first. I was happy with the results and even happier that I avoided the possible side effects of hormone replacement, which can be substantial (consult your doctor for details).
Before I found this product on Amazon, I used to buy a one ounce bottle at a local health food store for $15. At the current $40.00 ($10 an ounce), and free shipping, this product was a good enough deal to overcome my dislike for shopping Amazon for locally-available consumable products. My second order did take some weeks to arrive, but other than that I had no problems with the shipping or delivery.
