Giloy

This is a very large, 8oz bag of organic Gilroy Powder. It is a very fine ground, light beige color and it appears to be a high quality product. I have purchased several other powders from this brand previously and I have been happy with all of their products thus far. This powder is both sourced and packaged in India so it is very fresh and authentic. This product is in a re-sealable paper bag. I had a little bit of difficulty getting the bag to re-seal after opening and removing some of the powder, some of the powder can get lodged into the seal mechanism. I had to flick the bag a few times to remove the excess powder and then I was able to get it sealed again. I am using this powder for it’s skin benefits. Applying this topically can help treat blemishes and dark spots and can improve the appearance of aging skin. I have made an oil infusion in a 1:9 ratio with ozonated sunflower oil. I have placed it with my other oil infusions on a sunny windowsill and it will remain there for about 4-6 weeks. At that time I am going to strain the oil and use it in my face and body oil specifically for dark spots. This powder mixed into the oil right away in a uniform manner. It is non-GMO. I am really looking forward to trying this out, in the meantime, I may use it in other products like face masks or add it directly to lotions/creams depending on how impatient I become 🙂

This organic Giloy powder is a great addition to your wellness routine. It’s USDA-certified, non-GMO, and perfect for making herbal teas or adding to wellness recipes. The resealable pouch keeps it fresh, and the powder’s versatility makes it ideal for Ayurvedic practices.

The “Giloy Powder | 8 oz Resealable Pouch | Guduchi or Tinospora Cordifolia | USDA Organic | Kosher | Non-GMO | Vegan, Herbal Supplements & Ayurveda Products” has a fairly strong Earthy & somewhat bitter flavor. I generally add 1/2 tsp to a strong flavored homemade juice. I like to juice daily so it’s easy to add the powder. The package suggests it can be consumed by mixing it with water, milk or other beverages but I have only used various juices. There are many ways and reasons for using Giloy (health, beauty, skin etc.) and it has many possible benefits. The light brown/tannish, fine powder is sealed in a pouch/bag with a peek-a-boo window in the front so you can see the powder. It has a ziplock-type closure that doesn’t work to great. A binder clip works to help keep it closed but excess powder still ends up on the cupboard every time I use it. I appreciate Darsa Organics includes so much information on the back of the package about the product including the nutrition facts. For 100g it is 357.4 calories, 2.1g Total fat, 74.93g Total carbs and 9.64g protein. It varies depending on product but according to Google 100grams may be somewhere around 19 teaspoons. I received my pouch in March of 2024 and its Best by date is September 2025. Product of India.

I’m trying to collect a stockpile of alternative or homeopathic supplements in capsule, liquid, leaf, and powder form. I’ve never heard of giloy powder, but there’s always a lot of information out there on the bark. Not all supplements have FDA approval, but this one has it. This giloy is produced and packaged in India. That being said, any supplements I use are recorded on my medical records just in case I have any allergic reaction.
The ingredient label simply states this is giloy powder. There a few suggestions for use, but I’ve spotted more on the Internet. There is a claim that this powder does help with digestion, provides antioxidants, and boost the immune system, among other things. It does have a Best By date stamped on the packaging. I do like this brand (love it actually) and have enjoyed trying out several of their products. I like the fact that it’s in a resealable bag that has a window in which I could actually see the giloy powder.

The Darsa Organics Giloy Powder appears to be rather good quality. It is a finely ground powder, uniform in color and consistency and mixes easily in water. It’s nicely packaged in a resealable pouch.
Giloy is an Ayurvedic adaptogenic herb so its benefits and the time it takes to see its effects will vary with individuals. I’m taking giloy for its potential skin and hair health benefits. Recommended dosage is 1/2 tsp twice daily. Giloy has a slightly bitter taste so I mix it with ginger root powder to make it more palatable. I’m still looking into the best way to create a balm for insect bites and stings.

I’ve really become fond of this brand in a short span of time and have several of their powders. They are all high quality and I LOVE that they come from their country of origin (India) and are packed in a environmentally sustainable biodegradable bag. I just wish they would put some kind of dosing information. Don’t get me wrong. I research everything before I put it in my body anyway but one thing I’d rather not have to search for is the proper dose. Other than though, I really am loving this company’s products so far!

Giloy powder has a slightly bitter taste, but it’s not overpowering. I prefer mixing it with honey and consuming it as a supplement. I also make a tea and add honey to it. I have noticed a subtle glow in my skin since taking giloy. I do know its great for skin health. Giloy is also great for boosting the immune system and great for giving me an increase in energy. This powder is certified organic and free from genetically modified organisms. It comes in a resealable kraft paper pouch to ensure the freshness of the powder.
