I now buy only Frontier Co-op brand herbs and spices. They are always super fresh and many are organic. I was blown away by their garlic powder! I never liked to use garlic (or onion) powder because the brands I’d tried always smelled and tasted artificial. I have a couple of recipes that you really can’t use fresh garlic so since I’ve bought many Frontier spices in the past and have never been disappointed, I thought I’d try their garlic powder. Frontier’s garlic powder is almost pure white, a super fine powder (think cake flour), and when I opened the bag it filled my kitchen with the smell of fresh garlic. Can’t wait to start using it!
Bottom Line Up Front –
Flavor was rich and garlicky with nice aroma and a layered profile. Not a one-note flavor as are some and no bitter finish. One thing to be aware of: I was very surprised to find that this is a very fine powder, like cocoa, not the sort of table salt-size bits that I have always experienced in my cooking life so far (50yo). I had saved my old garlic powder shaker bottle to refill since the bag is so large. This stuff comes out of the shaker totally different than the usual stuff, very unpredictable and not so easy to add to a dish if you are eyeballing it. I also found that, like many fine food powders, it clumps when you add it to a liquid. I hope if they are reading this, that they will change to the more typical granule size, but if they don’t, you may need to adjust somewhat your approach to using garlic powder with this product. Overall, very good (so far) with caveat noted.

I have changed to this brand for all my spices. It is organic and not irradiated(extreme heat) which means better flavor.

I really like this brand and most the time its cheaper on amazon than in sprouts or natural grocers. Its very fine and very flavorful.

I used to buy this in stores but it was too expensive in those little bottles. I was happy to find this large bag, as I use this almost daily. While there’s no substitute for real garlic, this powder is a great time saver.
Two things I love (aside from being organic and from a brand I’m familiar with): very strong flavor, far better than any granulated type I’ve tried. This is a powder, and a little goes a long way, mixes well, and has more versatility than granulated as well.
