Folklore Oracle explores the rich symbolism within folk wisdom, mythology, custom and superstition, acknowledging each symbol as a key to unlock the hidden pieces of the psyche. A deck in the vein of Women Who Run With the Wolves, but with a practical eye toward insight within the seeker’s own hidden depths. Each card is a literary exploration of an image, a symbol, an item, a habit or a phenomenon found in folklore and regional tradition and used to highlight an aspect of the soul that needs to be brought out from the murky subconscious into the light of consciousness.

This oracle deck is absolutely beautiful and deeply evocative. The artwork carries a cozy yet shadowed cottagecore feel—rooted in folklore, lived tradition, and the quiet wisdom passed down through story rather than spectacle. It feels like something you’d find tucked on a wooden shelf beside old books, dried herbs, and a well-used journal.
What truly sets this deck apart is its depth. Each card reads like a small piece of folklore brought into the present moment—symbolic, cautionary, and rich with meaning. The messages don’t rush or oversimplify; they invite you to sit with them, to listen closely, and to gently bring what’s hidden in the subconscious into the light. There’s a strong Women Who Run With the Wolves energy here, but with a practical, grounded lens that makes the insights feel usable rather than abstract.
This is not a “quick pull” kind of deck—it’s one for reflection, journaling, and slow discovery. The cards feel wise, honest, and quietly powerful, making them especially well-suited for hearth witches, folklore lovers, and anyone drawn to ancestral or mythic symbolism. A truly soulful deck that feels like a companion rather than just a tool.

The Folklore Oracle deck is a beautiful and unique deck unlike any I’ve ever seen before! Drawing on fundamental folkloric symbols (Hearth, Dew, True Love, for some examples), this deck works with the imagery that western culture is steeped in and that pervades our minds on a subconscious level, whether we realize it does or not. This makes it extremely intuitive and easy to work with. This deck works very well on its own, or as a complement to readings with other decks as well—the cards work on such a fundamental level that they can bring an added dimension to tarot spreads or other oracle work.
Giada Rose’s illustrations are rich and timeless, capturing the essence of each symbol and inviting the creativity of the reader to imagine into the idea as well. Hadas Knox’s accompanying interpretive text is beautifully written and thought provoking—providing an overview of the symbol, possible interpretive avenues, and questions for the reader. This deck is very friendly and can be fun at a party or provide deep insight in a more serious setting as well.
The deck has a nice feel to it — the card quality is very good, with a tactile but smooth finish and gilded edges. Easy to spread and shuffle!

I absolutely love these cards! They are gorgeous for starters, but it’s also clear that a lot of thought and heart went into making them, and you can feel that. More so than my other decks, this one feels very calm, grounding, and wise. It’s read accurately for me time after time since I got it a few months ago. The guidebook is excellent, both in the spreads and folklore descriptions and deeper card meanings. BUT I think it’s important to note that this is almost entirely focused on Western folklore, so if you were hoping to go deeper into other folklores, it won’t be the best choice.

The art on each card is absolutely beautiful. The quality & texture of the card stock with the gilded edges are perfect. They’re very easy to shuffle. They have a very nice matte finish, they are the perfect thickness, not flimsy, they aren’t too stiff, they don’t stick together, they shuffle like warm butter.
The box they come in is nice & sturdy as well. The guidebook is great. It’s in full color. With each card, we get lore, divination meanings & a way to dive a little deeper into the meanings for even more perspective in a way that shows there could be more than just what the surface looks like.
Like I said, the art is just absolutely gorgeous. There’s not a single card that is lacking in anything. You can look at a card, then when you see it again later, you might find something you didn’t see before. It’s evocative in such a meaningful & personal way. The art & the messages pair so well each other. This is a very well-written oracle paired with an amazing artist.
After whatever happened with my deck to where it wasn’t delivered for almost two weeks after it was supposed to arrive was a problem but now that I finally have the deck, I am so happy I finally got it. I think it’s an issue with the publisher, not the author, which is really unfortunate for the authors that the publishers do them wrong.

I have mixed feelings about this one. First impression, the images are too small with a thick border. I’m not a fan of keywords or phrases but at least they are small print. I expect more specific fairytale to go with the “folklore” images but guidebook is actually very generic, like simply “birds” or “salt”. Overall, I like it ok. The card stock feel strange, not linen but kind of textured. The gilding is ok, not too sharp on my fingers. Images seem strangely blurry but look hand drawn so I’m not sure how they could be blurry unless that was intentional.
