I haven’t yet found a way to enjoy drinking this despite several tries prepped in different ways. My taste buds are just not accustomed to the piney/resinous flavor. The powder is fine enough to do without using a diffuser for tea but it makes for a cloudy brew. I switched from honey to stevia because it seemed to take way more honey to sweeten it than I’m comfortable using in one cup of tea. 1/2 teaspoon tastes best to me – still odd but not overwhelming. I can’t say I enjoyed it at all as hot tea, either alone or mixed with other teas. I’m going to try adding it to iced tea once the weather warms up because the taste is unique in my experience and I’m determined to find the best way to make it taste good to me.

This review is for the AEJESOP Tulsi Powder, 7 oz. First a bit about me so that you know what my prior experience with Tulsi is. I’ve had Tulsi tea before in the form of teabags, but never as a powder. Now that’s out of the way, let me start by saying that the Tulsi comes in a convenient resealable zipper type bag. This Tulsi is from India. Though the package says it is organic Tulsi, there are no organic certification seals on it. This said that a swerving size is 5 gm or 1 teaspoon. I weighed out a 5 gm serving of this Tulsi powder because that is listed as one serving. It seemed like a lot of powder. So then I used a measuring teaspoon which was a bit less, more like 3+ grams of this powder. I poured boiling water on to it and stirred. I drank the Tulsi tea plain. It was nice and strong. A bit too strong for my taste. Next time I will try 1/2 teaspoon. (You can always add more if it’s not enough.) The flavor is very distinct earthy pine flavor. I like the idea of using the powder because I feel that it is probably more beneficial to ingest it than to make a simple strained tea.
