LondonBoy –
Picked this up after reading a bit about Pippali (long pepper) in Ayurvedic texts — it’s meant to support digestion, respiratory health, and overall vitality. I’ve been adding a pinch to my morning tea and the odd curry, and it’s got a lovely warming kick that’s somewhere between black pepper and a mild chilli, but without the eye-watering aftermath.
The powder’s fine, fresh, and definitely potent — you don’t need much to feel the effect. It blends well into drinks, and I’ve also tried it with a bit of honey for the occasional sore throat — surprisingly soothing.
I like that this is a pure, no-nonsense version — just dried and ground Pippali, nothing else chucked in. Feels like something that’s actually respected the traditional preparation.
Pros:
Pure, fresh and finely ground — no fillers
Versatile in use — tea, food, or even taken straight
Warming and great for digestion or seasonal sniffles
Vegan and traditionally prepared
Cons:
Quite strong — easy to overdo if you’re not careful
Doesn’t come with usage tips, so a bit of self-research helps
If you’re into natural remedies or like experimenting with traditional herbs, this is a great addition. Warming, bold, and full of character — like a little Ayurvedic firecracker in powder form.
