I spent many hours looking for the right place on Amazon to buy bulk tumbled stones from. Since Dancing Bear had some phenomenal reviews and photos, I ended up buying from them – and I’m SO glad I did.
They arrived in a bubble wrapped packaging envelope, with a smaller package inside containing a ziploc bag of the stones, the booklet, and the ID leaflet.
My sister and I spent hours identifying, sorting, trading, and counting the stones. There were about 114 that we split between the two of us in the one pound lot. There was a pretty great variety of stones but in this lot we definitely got a large amount of red jasper and walnut jasper. (Walnut jasper turned out to be one of her favorites, and I was lacking red jasper in my collection so this wasnt necessary a negative.) We recieved a lot of adventurine too, which I love.
There were a few really gorgeous stones that stood out. 4 or 5 were cracked or had rough edges, which my sister quickly claimed. I found 2 perfect circular stones – onyx and lapis lazuli. There were several flat oval shaped specimens and some triangular ones.
Most of the stones were roughly 1/2 and inch or smaller but about 20 or so were an inch or more. I was really happy with the sizes and variety in shapes.
Overall, I’m more than thrilled with my purchase. I cant wait for my next order and I cannot recommend Dancing Bear enough.

I wanted to get my stone collection back up again. Somehow I misplaced a lot over the years. And this was the smartest decision I made to kick it off. I bought two of the two pound bags. I’m happy with the size and condition of the stones. Although the second order was definitely better than the first. I got a lot of variety in both, but finding a good sized chunk of hematite and amethyst in this latest bunch made me over the moon happy! They were shipped and delivered next day. Crazy good! Thanks for all my beautiful stones! Highly recommend!

Love the stones I have ordered from Dancing Bear. Have only one complaint, there have been no black stones. I love adding obsidian or black tourmaline to some of my work.

nice stones i know for certain a few of the stones but even with the information i was not sure of oh i would say half by there more detailed names but if you can see through it at all some one said its base was quarts there was jasper serpentine a few tigers eye 2 fluorite and 1 roadinite i guess each batch is different the variety and quality is good the size varies it would be nice to have what the stones are attributed for not just the scientific information

Beautiful stones! Amazing customer service! Had a very small issue but they took care of it right away! This is probably one of the best mixed lots I’ve recieved while there were extra duplicates of common stones (my small issue: too many rose quartz and red jasper but they took very good care and sent out a few more stones to me and they were gorgeous!), there were more stones that I don’t normally find in mixes like this. Contains more uncommonly found stones that you would normally have to buy separate to get. And I’ve bought multiple mixes from many sellers. Depends on what you are using these for, there are definitely some jewelry quality pieces but not all. But they are all beautiful and have the most lovely energy. Perfect for healing, energy and teaching. Still working on figuring out all of them as there are quite many in the 2 lb assortment I got.
They are a great wrapping size; not big and bulky and many lovely different shapes. Or perfect to toss in your pocket for the day or keep in your car or under your pillow. Also great for a traveling crystal grid or maybe you don’t like giant stones in your grid anyway, don’t let anyone tell you how it has to be! So many options for these little lovelies. I bought these polished stones as a Christmas gift for my 6 year-old nephew because he really loves nature – bugs, plants, rocks, etc – and he’s very interested in learning about the different aspects of nature rather than just playing in it or with it. I like to try and get him gifts that are educational and will pique his curiosity as well as just fun. I’ve bought other sets of polished stones for him before, and they’ve been nice – we usually look the stones up on the internet to learn more about them. I think that this batch of polished stones is probably the best I’ve ever gotten for him. The stones themselves are really nice: they’re a good size, none are cracked or broken, there’s a great selection, and not just a whole bunch of the easier-to-find stones. But the thing that really makes this set of stones stand out from all the rest is the thoughtful educational material that’s been included. There’s a flier and a little booklet included, and they’re not cheaply made, but printed in color on high quality glossy paper. They’re both presented in a way that makes the information easily accessible to both adults and children. This was a great purchase, and I’m excited to share it with my little nephew!

I was really happy with my purchase! I wasn’t exactly sure of what I would get after reading some reviews but I received well over 200 stones and there were only 14 obviously dyed ones and 1 fake made from resin. I did get a lot of rose quartz (38!) and red jasper (26) but that is actually what I wanted to make crystal grids so I’m happy with it. There was a great variety, many amethysts, lapis lazuli, tiger eyes and all kinds of jasper and agate plus some less common ones and a few that I have yet to identify. Overall, great purchase and you can’t beat that price for what you get!

I have purchased these 4 times and was impressed with the variety of genuine stones the first 3 times. However my 4th purchase was mixed with dyed stones . I wasn’t happy about it but my grandson loved the fake stone colors so much I kept them so he could put them in his collection. I purposely ordered the genuine stones stated in the description and hope my next order will be dye free.

I was pleasently surprised when the 2 pounds of tumbled polished natural gem stones arrived. The stones are way bigger than I expected! They are beautiful, we received all the kinds on the small identification poster, in fact we even received two kinds that were not on the poster. My 3 kids are really enjoying that kit! As homeschoolers and geology lovers, that 2 pounds kit will be a great tool and lots of fun in our house! We have a fossil kit too and were very satisfied with it. You can trust Dancing Bear!!

Information provided with the purchase was very detailed. Stones were very good and nice mix of different types. ~ 200 or so stones of good size and was treat to pick / sort through with kidlets.
Some had holes through, perhaps from jewelry making, but did not detract from overall rating / quality of what was purchased.
Weight of gemstones received was more than the 2lbs stated 🙂 *bonus star*
