These are fairly strong. Much prefer these to something like Goldenseal which is super harsh and sometimes ineffective. These are bitter in taste but do better than most everything available. Not a miracle pill but great immune support and great for inflammation and support of organs etc. Should be taken with probiotics as they clean up the good bugs too. Some herbalists recommend taking only 7-10 days while others say it can be taken daily. Generally I think its safe to take daily at low doses but some time off to let the good bacteria recover makes sense for any supplement.

I don’t know if this works for respiratory infections for certain but my husband and I have both suffered from several viruses this year that hung on for weeks. Taking this, we both cleared up in less than a week with the last one we caught.

In TCM (traditional Chinese medicine), this herb has anti-inflammatory, detoxifying, and respiratory support functions and therefore helps with immune support especially of the lungs and the respiratory system in general. It probably doesn’t taste great as a herb, so it’s nice that these are in capsules and I’ve used this, along with Astragalus, for immune support during cold/flu seasons for quite a few years now and they do help. Of course, eating healthy and exercising are just as important, and especially getting enough sleep, but overall, this is a good product. I feel Carlyle labs make effective and reliable products that are safe. Easy to swallow and reasonably prices (good value).
