The copper 2 sulfate (CuSO4) granules in a five pound plastic jug by Mendeleev are made in PRC (china). There is nothing on the label of the plastic jug to specify country of origin. The amazon listing indicates this jug of blue granules is from china. The sticker on the shipping bag says the contents are 10 pounds of material, so there are some warehouse issues. So far, the crystals do what I ordered them for, treat my septic field line effluent so that any roots are exterminated. I do get more for the $27 price with this jug of granules than I do of the big box store stuff. I also like the dual use for algae control in the pool, as this is almost the same stuff I purchased from the pool supply place.

Bought this product to remove black algae from our 8000 gallon inground pool.
Routine chlorine treatment and brushing was not effective on the black algae.
Used approximately 12 ounces, placing the crystals in a small plastic container (with holes from a 1/16” drill bit) in the basket filter on the suction side of the pump.
Took about 3 days and the black algae turned a grayish color, which I was able to remove most of it with normal brushing.
Will use periodically to prevent any reoccurrence.
For anyone with the same problem in their pool, make sure your water pH is balanced before adding, and read recommendations from professionals so as not to overdose the pool water.
