This is a great option if you like or need a bulk amount of pretty colored rocks and minerals. I specially wanted something like this to use for the bottoms of my decorative artificial plant decor and miniature scenery nooks.
I like that it includes over 40 kinds, because that makes it feel much more interesting than a tiny mix where everything starts looking the same after five minutes. The 3-pound amount is also generous and gives the amount real value instead of just a little sample baggie/box.
This would be a nice choice for any type of projects, decor, etc that needs a more interesting background. The mix of tumbled pieces, chips, and crushed stones also gives it some flexibility for different uses. It is one of those sets that can work as both a display-worthy collection and a fun activity to sort through. The main thing to check before buying is whether you want it more for collecting, learning, or crafting. The rocks that I received are a small pebble size, reminds me of aquarium gravel but much nicer looking.

Three bags of a variety of stones. Bags are sorted by size. There are some beautiful stones for these sizes. Some are more organic shapes and a few are round or otherwised shaped. The stones are very clean. This is a great value and a nice assortment. Suitable for crafts, decorating, and other uses.
